After seeing our Scotty Pack initiatives, long-time supporter of DeWeather Cares, Joan Walko, approached us with the idea of similar kits for cats.  Recognizing that cats are cherished members of many families, we created Trixie Packs, named in memory of Joan's own beloved cat.

Trixie was the long-time companion of Joan Walko, the woman whose idea it was to create packs of supplies for cat owners impacted by natural disasters.

Trixie came into Joan's life October 8th, 2020. Joan adopted Trixie from The Lehigh County Humane Society. She was dropped  there with no information.  They estimated her age to be around 10.

She loved sitting at the storm door or bay window. In Winter she would go crazy trying to catch snowflakes.

Trixie died on March 31, 2025.

Trixie Pack is a DeWeather Cares initiative as a part of their Cares for Pets program. These specially designed kits are packed with essential supplies and nutritious food, providing cats impacted by natural disasters for up to three days. Supplies used for Trixie Packs are purchased by donors from our Amazon Wish List.
