From our Board of Directors to the people who put Cares Kits together to the people on our Deployment Operations team to our CEO, everyone at DeWeather Cares is a volunteer. Nobody gets paid. Volunteers are why we are able to help communities impacted by natural disasters. Whether at DeWeather headquarters or remotely, there is an almost endless list of volunteer opportunities at DeWeather Cares, and each one is as important as the next one. Most volunteer opportunities can be performed remotely.
Severe Weather Monitoring: Utilizes available resources to observe, record and report severe weather conditions.
Storm Damage Assessment: Utilizes various means and methods to determine impacts of severe weather events on communities, and the subsequent needs of impacted communities.
Social Media & Communications: Uses DeWeather Cares online presence to convey information related to the Disaster Task Force's activities and status.


Mapping: Utilizes Cares' methods to determine the safest and most expeditious routes to impacted communities.
Logistics: Using the determined mapping, locates necessary locations for food, fuel, lodging and other needs.
Deployment: After successfully completing background check, health screening and driving record history, travels to impacted communities to deliver urgently needed items and supplies.
Navigation: Using determined mapping and logistics information, in conjunction with real-time conditions, ensures the safe and efficient deployment and return of the Disaster Task Force.
Social Media and Communications: Uses DeWeather Cares online presence to convey information related to the Disaster Task Force's activities and status.
Accounting: Collects information related to the deployment, specifically expenses incurred and value of items and supplies deployed.
Statistics: Tracks, records and calculates the deployments mileage, total time, and information concerning communities assisted and items delivered.
Social Media & Communications: Uses DeWeather Cares online presence to report the Disaster Task Force's safe return and end of deployment, as well as information related to the deployment.


Programs: Works directly on DeWeather Cares four main programs: Cares for Pets, Bennett Box, Cares Kits and DeWeather Breaks.
Social Media & Communications: Uses DeWeather Cares online presence to report the on-going activities of DeWeather Cares.
Graphic Design: Creates visual materials, both print and digital, in support of the DeWeather Cares mission.
Technology: Keeping in mind limited budget and modern technology requirements, oversees the selection, implementation, and maintenance of digital tools, websites, software, and hardware to support the DeWeather Cares mission. It ensures technology is accessible, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with DeWeather Cares' needs, while often providing training and troubleshooting support when needed.
Fundraising: Develops and undertakes campaigns and activities to raise funds and secure Partners.
Community Engagement: Plans and executes initiatives to build stronger relationships to further and support the mission of DeWeather Cares by facilitating two-way communication, gathering public feedback, organizing events, workshops, and/or outreach programs to foster trust, participation, and collaboration.
