Small Moments. Big Smiles.
Providing comfort, creativity, and moments of
normalcy for children impacted by disaster.

Cares for Kids was created to support children and families impacted by disasters, through comfort, creativity, and moments of normalcy when they are needed most. Whether responding to communities impacted by tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, wildfires, or other disasters, the program focuses on helping children feel seen, supported, and cared for during uncertain times.

Under the Cares for Kids umbrella are two specialized initiatives: Bennett Boxes and Task Force Breaks. Bennett Boxes are volunteer-packed arts and crafts kits designed to provide children with creative outlets, activities, and moments of distraction and comfort. Task Force Breaks provides sports and non-sports trading cards to children impacted by disasters, helping create excitement and connection.

Together, these programs reflect the heart of DeWeather Cares’ mission — showing up, regardless of geographic size, population, or location, because showing up matters.
